The Dreamer Center dental clinic saw more than 250 patients last week during a very successful volunteer dental drive. Three dental hygenists from Iowa and Nebraska did cleanings, extractions, and other simple procedures on students from both of our schools and some public schools nearby. Thanks to Dana, Beth, and Allison for all of the hardwork. Our kids’ smiles are bright and healthy thanks to their help.

Ylfa Sigurdardottir (left) and Frida Jonsdottir (right) arrived from Iceland together in early October 2011 to begin volunteering at Casa Jackson. Although young in years (18 and 20, respectively!), these two women have shown tremendous independence, consistency and maturity in their work.
From day one, Ylfa and Frida have been patient and flexible, able to understand the shifting needs and priorities of the organization, in addition to their own. They have built wonderful relationships with the children, who clearly adore them, and are respected by the staff at Casa Jackson for their diligence and dedication during each and every shift. Ylfa and Frida have been a reliable, warm presence for patients and staff alike for the past two months and will be missed by all when they return home this week!
