Maeva, from France, visited Scheel Center after learning that the school was located in Jocotenango, where she is staying. Since her January visit, she’s been a huge help at Scheel as they begin the new school year and has also spent numerous nights giving out dinner at our homeless shelter Santa Madre.
Maeva has helped with administrative tasks like organizing class roster and designing ID cards for our Mothers’ Club. She has also worked with Mothers’ Club and our students, organizing activities, offering emotional support to the mothers, and working with the students to foster respect and unity. Maeva also helps prepare and serve breakfast and lunch, and her positive attitude is motivating students to work hard this year.
The staff and students at Scheel Center love having her around and will be sad to see her go later this month.
