About Axel: Axel is Blanci’s severely malnourished twin brother. As expected, he is a bit more tranquil than his sister, due to his fatigue and weakness. He is beginning to make some progress, however, and after a week of good nutrition, he is able to roll around his crib on his own. Axel is a serious little fellow and although it’s hard to get a smile out of him, when he does smile, he lights up the whole room.
UPDATE: Axel went home with his twin sister Blanci on March 27, 2012, at a healthy weight of 14.12 lbs.
