The homeless shelter is run by Nuestros Ahijados (GOD’S CHILD Project in Guatemala) and provides temporary shelter for children and adults requiring alternative living arrangements as well as people not a part of our other programs. The shelter opens every night at 6 p.m. and offers a warm, nutritious meal to its patrons. Showers are available as well.
The Albergue serves roughly 80 people every night. Many of the people it serves suffer from addictions and the Albergue is working with the local AA chapter to help treat these addictions and provide rehabilitation as well as a safe place to sleep. People staying at the Albergue Homeless Shelter also have access to the medical and dental clinics, to which Nuestros Ahijados provides transportation to and from.
